14 weeks

Ok so this one is a little late.....

I LOVE this dress.  It is so comfortable, colorful, and summery.

Ok, so this past week has been HORRIBLE.  It's been totally stressful, hence the late post.  Let me explain. First of all, my computer, which has been having issues for awhile now, yet isn't that old, got the blue screen of death.  UGH.  Thankfully, we have a guy who can update and fix it for free, but he fits us in between his regular, paying clients, so it takes days for the stupid thing to get fixed.  Second, work has been a little stressful....ok more than a little.  Let's just say I'll be glad when this week is over....or is that next week?  I don't know, I'm all turned around.  At this point, I'm sure you're thinking that none of this is so bad.  It's not, really.  Here's the worst part:  my bank account got hacked into and emptied.  Yup.  You read that correctly.  I was livid.  Apparently, our grocery store, Food Lion, had their server hacked, my debit card number was compromised, and this wonderful person pilfered money out of our account using Food Lion as a cover.  My bank, stupid as they are, let this happen, and didn't flag my account for fraudulent charges nor did they contact me with these unusual spending habits.  Needless to say, I had no idea what was going on until I was trying to check out at Motherhood Maternity and my card was declined.  Completely embarrassed and thinking to myself that I hadn't used this account all week and there had to be money in the account, I pulled my account up online and realized my account was not only empty, but overdrawn with tons of fees outstanding.  Great.  I then look at all the charges and they are clearly not from us.  At that point, hormones kicked in. It wasn't pretty.  The bright shining star in this story is Food Lion Headquarters.  They were super helpful, knew what we were referring to (as clearly we were not the only people this happened to), and will have the money to us Monday.  The loser is my bank, who refuses to reimburse any of the overdraft fees even though we were clearly not ones who overdrew the account.  Needless to say, I will be switching banks Monday when I have that Food Lion check.

Ok, now that I've vented and I feel better, here's the pregnancy update.  I'm still feeling amazing.  In fact, I went to see the doctor on Thursday and when he asked me how I was feeling, I told him "not pregnant", to which he responded, "You do know it's not a disease, right?"  He had me laughing.  We got to hear the heartbeat and it was awesome and chugging right along!  I've gained 8 pounds total, which he said is a normal amount at this point, and to try to keep to 4 pounds a month.  I told him I'd eat less bread and cheese.  :)   I go in February 20th for my next appointment and for another ultrasound.  I CANNOT wait to find out if our little Nug is a boy or girl!  I'm going to have to control myself to not empty my bank account myself after we find out!  After my appointment, Stephen and I poked around TJ Maxx in the baby department and went to Toys R Us (we don't have a Babies R Us here) to look at stuff for the Nug.  Stephen started clearing out the closets in what will be the nursery to get it ready for all the goodies.  It's slowly starting to become more real as more time goes by and my belly keeps growing.

13 weeks

Oh my goodness....the belly is REALLY showing now!!  Ending the first trimester and going into the second....where did the first 13 weeks go???  CRAZY!

I honestly cannot complain about this pregnancy.  It's gone so smoothly and I'm feeling so great still!  And since most people feel the worst in the first trimester, I'm people told it should be a breeze from here.....we shall see!!

My mother was kind enough to take me shopping this past weekend since I had only 2 pair of pants that fit that I could wear to work (sweatpants are not acceptable!) and I am so thankful she did!!  I have clothes that fit!!  YEAH!  At least most of my tops will still fit for awhile since most of them are longer (ok, really, it's because I'm "vertically challenged"), but pants were a challenge!

We also got another package for the Nug this past week.  My mother-in-law sent us baby board books, an outfit,  and a GIANT stuffed raccoon.  How cute is this??????

12 weeks

Week 12, 1 week left in the first trimester.....yeah!!  Still feeling great, not a lot of nausea, tired after my 8 hour shift on my feet, but really I still can't complain.  There are times I forget I'm pregnant and start climbing on things at work, then I get yelled at for standing on rolling chairs.  Oops.

The Nug had presents delivered this week:  diapers and toys.  So perfect!  We visited a local baby boutique here in Myrtle Beach last week and were slightly overwhelmed at all the "stuff" we would need.  Then I went through and read what we REALLY need and what we DON'T need and realized we'll be ok.  We still not a TON of stuff, but not nearly as much as retailers make you THINK you need.

Now, could someone please help me convince Panera that they need to open a cafe in Myrtle Beach, preferably Little River and less than a mile from my house!  :)

11 Weeks

It's still not a big bump....but here it is.

Even though we won't find out until 20 weeks the gender of the Nug, we have been having fun listening to the predictions of friends and family, as well as hearing all your name suggestions.  Know that we plan on sharing the gender of our Nug before birth, but not the name!  We have loved the daily name suggestions on Facebook (the serious and the funny) and we have a running list of names we like.  So, we want to know what you think.  Do you think the Nug is a girl or a boy?

I had my second checkup late last week.  Shockingly, I've only gained 2 pounds.  I said to the poor nurse, "Are you sure?  ONLY two pounds?  My boobs are bigger.  My butt is bigger.  My clothes don't fit at all, but I've only gained two pounds??"  Yes, she laughed at me....in a totally appropriate way!

I'm still craving bread, cheese, and chocolate, but my appetite has slowed down (thankfully!) and my nausea has been replaced with heartburn.  I can handle that.  :)
